The Charmed Trio from Charmed
It’s a little torn on which trio you prefer. We’ve got Team Piper, Phoebe and Prue with a Team Piper, Phoebe and Paige. We’ll leave it up to you to decide who’s in ‘witch’ camp.
Nancy Downs from The Craft
Yes, Robin Tunney as Sarah is the main character but damn. Fairuza Balk as Nancy steals the show. She may be overplayed a bit but it works.
The Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus
Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker as three goofy witch sisters, need we say more?

Before Anjelica Huston played Morticia she freaking killed it as The Grand High Vitch in The Witches. Literally and figuratively.
Hermione Granger from Harry Potter series
We all have a love for studious little Hermione. One could argue that she’s a better witch than Harry is a wizard and kicks much ass in her journey through the series. Much more than Harry does. Oh, Ron? What did he do again?

Ok, ok. It’s more fantasy and kid friendly (The Witches does not count as kid friendly) but Angela Lansbury is a freaking national treasure in both England and America.

The brilliantly, cute little witch who ends up with the sweet Miss Honey mom that she deserves.

Btw, for Charms, I’m for Piper, Phoebe and Paige, although Prue had some really cool powers.
Two other suggestions:
Tansy Saylor from Fritz Leiber’s “Conjure Wife” (1952/53 version). Okay, so her husband Norman is the nominal protagonist, but when she’s afflicted by a magical attack, Tansy’s still capable of giving her husband marching orders. That takes guts.
James Schmitz’s “The Witches of Karres” (1949, expanded 1966), particularly the unholy trinity of mischief makers, Maleen, the Leewit, and Goth, who playfully afflict Captain Pausert after he buys them out of slavery. Read the 1949 novella version and laugh. The 1966 novel does tie up a few loose ends, but it also adds on another adventure story in which the witches become less important, Pausert more so.

The Witches and The Craft was always a favorite for me as a child.
There is also the Witches of Eastwick, Rosemary’s Baby (All of them witches), Suspira and many more.
