WWW is from Sam over at Taking on a World of Words, and this is also combination post as This Week in Books by Lipsyy is essentially the same thing.
(psst: Click the book cover to be taken to the GoodReads page.)
What I’m Reading for Review:
Victor’s Heritage by Anthony Caplan
Progress: 20% | Opinion so far: Okay, so maybe its too wordy. The concept is interesting, but I just can’t get into it!
Minotaur by J.A. Rock
Progress: 51% | Opinion so far: An easy, fascinating read. Can’t wait to finish it.
Zer0es by Chuck Wendig
Progress: 19% | Opinion so far: I like the way he describes things, and the characters introduced are definitely different, realistic (and sometimes smackable).
What I Finished This Week
(as you may be able to tell, I’m on a “popular books” kick. Mainly because those are easy to get in paperback and I’m getting an e-reader today, actually, so I’ve been taking a break on the e-books.)
What’s Up Next (for December)
I’m looking forward to getting around to Illuminae – I haven’t seen a negative review yet. Six of Crows is on my Christmas list.
I’ve seen good things about Zeroes – I’ll look out for your review 🙂
Here’s my WWW: https://clairehuston.wordpress.com/2015/11/25/www-wednesday-25th-november-2015/
In September I read Zeroes by Scott Westerfeld, so I’m kind of amused that I’m reading another new release book named Zer0es already by someone else. Checking out your WWW now, actually 🙂
Was Red Queen any good? I’m attempting to not buy it without feedback from people.
What e-reader are you getting? I never go anywhere without mine, it’s like an extra hand.
Great post and happy reading!
A basic kindle e-reader. I would borrow Red Queen from the library. It’s good but not great.
I had it from the library but I returned it because it didn’t interest me all that much. I think it’s been overhyped.
I love my kindle, you’re going to love it, so much better
Up until this point I’ve read on my phone or my laptop, so I figure even the basic one is going to be an amazing difference, lol.
It’s been the best investment I’ve made and over the course of the years I’ve upgraded, I have a paperwhite now and it’s been the best of the best out of all I’ve purchased. The light comes in so handy
I have chronic insomnia. The last thing I need is a book that self-lights in the dark to give me even more reasons not to sleep -.- LOL
The ending of Red Queen was the best part of it. It had trouble holding my interest for the first half. It was just so…typical.
I have both Illuminae and A Monster Calls on my ever growing TBR!! I adored Red Queen! I cannot wait for the next book! 🙂
Don’t read A Monster Calls in public if you’re even slightly prone to tears or have had a traumatic experience losing a loved one. Trust me on this -.-
Thanks for the advice!! I will keep a box of tissues nearby!! 🙂
I read it in the library and was fighting back tears at the end -.-
Well, I need to grab a copy of it before I can turn myself into an emotional wreck!! 🙂
I love More Than This, but I haven’t read any of the others. A few of them are on my TBR list though.
