June is Pride Month and it lines up with Sci-Fi & Scary’s new push for diversity on the site. We want to make sure that authors (and filmmakers) that aren’t straight, white guys get their share of attention because being able to read horror written by a multitude of voices and experiences makes it infinitely more interesting.
We are also happy to promote our fellow book bloggers and their work when we can, which is why you will see us talking about an Instagram challenge from Emily and Alex in the post below.
For those of you who haven’t explored Instagram much, these ‘challenges’ are a chance to find new books and authors that you love. You don’t have to post a picture every day, or even every week. You could use the prompts just for your personal reading goals and it works just as well. We encourage you to participate in any way that you feel comfortable.
Next month from June 21-25 is going to be #pridehorrorthon ! @finding_montauk & I listed some books to get you started (some are still on our TBR for the readathon), and also have a GoodReads list so everyone can add suggestions. Hope you can join in!https://t.co/bSOLo5zNlg pic.twitter.com/yZzH5n82wy
