Rigor Morbid: Lest Ye Become #Review
Rigor Morbid is a brilliant collection of 12 horror stories that introduced me to some really fab new writers and I am now dying to get my hands on more of their work. I have already made some purchases on the back of this wonderful little collection and I can’t wait to dive into more weird and wonderful tales!
I read this collection over a month ago and some of these tales have really stuck with me, I can’t get them out of my head!
Some true highlights from the collection for me were:
MRSA Me by Alicia Hilton. Now I read this after travelling from the UK on two planes to Thailand, and knew I had another two planes to look forward to in order to get myself back home again, so that added to the scary a lot. Oh and, if you’re freaking out about coronavirus, maybe don’t give this one a read? Or do…
Ivan’s Emporium of Curses by N Sowers. Sowers is a new writer and blimey I am so excited! Emporium of Curses has some Needful Things by Stephen King vibes, yet approx. 750 pages shorter and punchier!
We All Scream by Hailey Piper. I don’t have much to say really except for, bloody hell.
Trigger Finger by Joanne Rixon is a totally unique take on a zombie tale and oh my word. Putting myself into that situation I honestly cannot even imagine. It’s one of those stories that you read and then you just need to stare into space for a little while.
Above are some highlights from the collection, but I honesty loved them all, most of the stories I would give in this collection is 5 stars, plus a few that were 4. If you haven’t heard of these authors, it is a seriously good and quick way to get an introduction to some new faves!
