Kali Krew Presents: Stay Out of the Woods

“If you go down in the woods today
You’re sure of a big surprise
If you go down in the woods today
You’d better go in disguise!

Teddy Bears Picnic

You might also want to pack a machete, flamethrower (wait, scratch that, not a flamethrower, you’re going to in the woods), and a good pair of running shoes. You never know who or what you’re going to meet out there as evidenced by our list this week.

Fall (more specifically, October) is the traditional spooky season but you can’t deny that summer is peculiarly fit for horror, as well. Maybe it’s sitting around a fire telling ghost stories. Maybe it’s camping in the woods and hearing that rustling noise behind you. It’s probably a deer. Probably.

This week the Kali Krew Presents some summer scary time reading, watching, and viewing pleasure. Some are silly, some are more camper-ish, you know, in-tents (we apologize, Gracie couldn’t help herself) but so there’s sure to be something for everyone to enjoy. Either way, it should encourage you to Stay Out of the Woods.

  1. I love ‘The Blair Witch Project’, especially the ‘documentary’ that goes along with it that one is supposed to see first. The lore of that, that the producers released the ‘documentary’ first, and built the hype as real, and then released the movie, which made it FAR more realistic.

I have a soft spot for ‘The Evil Dead’, but I prefer the second version, which is more light-hearted and fun.

I have been watching a documentary series on youtube called, ‘Bedtime Stories’, which tells of purportedly true paranormal events. This introduced me to a woods monster that I had never hfeard of; the WINDIEGO. This creature is terrifying and the stories ring true. I highly recommend:
