Kali Krew Presents: Beachin’ Good Reads

It’s almost actually summer. And probably is full summer in most parts of the world. In the wastes of the north where GracieKat types from they just had a frost two nights ago. So she’s still summer dreamin’. Sigh.

Ahem. Anyways. When we are all finally able to go to the beach make sure to pick up some beachin’ good reads (see what we did there). And these aren’t just good for beachy fun but anywhere you want to relax and reach for a nice, light read. And this year we’ve included a few travel-friendly games, as well!

Below the Kali Krew presents to you some beachin’ good reads!

Last time, I promise.

The Hollow Places by T. Kingfisher

“T. Kingfisher has a voice that just appeals to me perfectly and so even when bad shit was happening, I was still finding reasons to snicker.” – Lilyn

Infernal by Cheryl Low

Chosen by Sam

The Kasari Nexus (Rho Agenda Assimilation #1) by Richard Phillips

Chosen by Bill

Out of Tune edited by Jonathan Maberry

Chosen by Gracie

“In the summer I tend more towards anthologies and Out of Tune holds a special place because it’s one of the books that introduced me to the site. And I just realized that I’ve never reviewed it for the site proper. So look for that coming soon!” – Gracie

The Pendergast series by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child

Chosen by Gracie

“The Pendergast series is a fun mix of action, a mysterious agent and the scientifically supernatural. Maybe this year I can actually finish the series. I got as far as Wheel of Darkness. And you can totally skip Still Life with Crows. It’s meh.” – Gracie

New Pokemon Snap (Nintendo Switch)

Chosen by Sam

The Sundown Motel by Simone St. James

Chosen by Sam and Tracy

“The Sun Down Motel is a fast-paced thriller with supernatural elements, perfect for the beach!” – Sam

Check out Sam’s review of The Sun Down Motel

(Note from the editor: Gracie also has this on her summer TBR. The entire Kali Krew Summer TBR will be coming soon so keep on the watch for that!)

Thirteen: 13 Tales of Horror by 13 Masters of Horror edited by T. Pines

Chosen by Gracie

“The times I do venture to the beach I like taking some nineties Point Horror. Sometimes two because they’re a little short and they go fast but they’re fun for the beach and takes me back to when I actually wanted to be an adult. Before I knew adulting is mostly boring and stressful. Now that I can go to bed anytime I want what I want is to go to bed at a sensible time and get a full night’s sleep. Ah, dreams. But I digress.” – Gracie

Viable Threat (Outbreak Task Force #1) by Julie Rowe

Chosen by Lilyn

“Viable Threat had just enough romance and ridiculousness (something like 4 times blown up in the course of the book) to keep it lighter.” – Lilyn

WTF: Work Time Fun (PSP)

Chosen by Gracie

“WTF has so many fun mini-games and some that are definitely on the wtf? side but still weirdly fun and satisfying. Like picking up golf balls. And capping pens. But of them all the chick sorting one and the candy stick match three are my favourites” – Gracie

Zeroland by Ryan Winters

Chosen by Brian

“Just came out, I enjoyed one of his earlier books, and can’t wait to read Zeroland.” – Brian
