Kali Krew Presents: Back to School

Schools don’t seem like they’d be very frightening places. They’re usually active, full of noise and bustle. But, when the school day ends and the halls empty of kids, a school can become a very spooky place. After dark, when night falls. When school is over and the halls are empty your footfalls echo, lockers seem to shift and you hear sounds throughout the school that you wouldn’t normally hear in the thick crowds of restless kids.

Welcome back to school.

The school year has started again. And there are is a lot of fear, frustration, and confusion with how things should be done considering the current state of things. However, let’s put that aside for just a minute (it’ll be there when we’re done here, trust me) and take a look at some fun fictional schools in which all of your worst fictional nightmares come true (besides the dread of homework).

The Kali Krew Presents a list of some of the scariest, most terrifying schools in horror!

This week’s list suggested by Tracy!

Small Sci-Fi and Scary Divider

Pencils down, heads up! I hope you took notes kiddies because there’s going to be a test! Not really but we would have loved a horror test in high school (it’s about the only one Gracie could pass, haha).

Let us know some of your school horror!

  1. Fritz Leiber’s “Conjure Wife,” a novel of witchcraft and small college faculty politics, did get made into a movie (under another title). And Shirley Jackson’s “Hangsaman” shifts from the protagonist’s home to the small liberal-arts college where she disappears. It’s interesting that in contrast, the films I’ve seen from those you list above are all set at larger school.
