Best Seller by Terry Tyler #BookReview

Three women, one dream: to become a successful author.

Eden Taylor has made it—big time. A twenty-three year old with model girl looks and a book deal with a major publisher, she’s outselling the established names in her field and is fast becoming the darling of the media.

Becky Hunter has money problems. Can she earn enough from her light-hearted romance novels to counteract boyfriend Alex’s extravagant spending habits, before their rocky world collapses?

Hard up factory worker Jan Chilver sees writing as an escape from her troubled, lonely life. She is offered a lifeline—but fails to read the small print…

In the competitive world of publishing, success can be merely a matter of who you know—and how ruthless you are prepared to be to get to the top.

Best Seller Review

I’m such a fan of character driven novels, and with a dark undercurrent, Tyler writes them effortlessly.

I loved this book so much that immediately after I finished it, I had to dive straight into another of Tyler’s novellas (review of that one to come soon!). I have had a lot of fun with every single of Tyler’s novels/novellas that I have read so far. They are full of fab twists and keep you entertained and guessing throughout, without being overdone or twisting for the sake of a twist. Early on you’re guessing what will happen and kept on edge throughout and hooked due to the narrative writing style. Told through a multiple of POVs, the pace is fast, and it is easy to lose yourself and read in one sitting! I just had to keeo going to see if I would be right! Ha ha, Poirot over here has to know that she is going to best an author into guessing their plot reveals, and for some of them, I had success. The characters are not all that likeable but they each have their own unique voice, feel very real and are easy enough to empathise with (or just straight up hate).

Needless to say, Best Seller is a super quick read, that gives a fab introduction into Tyler’s style of writing and is absolutely perfect reading for on the beach or to make a boring train journey feel like it lasts only minutes.

I’m throwing all the stars at this, it deserves to be a best seller. It certainly had me questioning all about Tyler’s experience in the self-published world of writing! 😉

Wonder what choices you would make if you wanted to release a bestselling novel? Have a read and see which character you align with most!

  2. I’ve read several of Terry’s novels (the Renova series) and have another one line’d up and couldn’t agree more. She’s excellent. I’ll have to check this one out as soon as I can. Thanks for the recommendation, Sian.
