A Horror-ific Continental Challenge

One of the bloggers I recently started following (Dublin Bookworm) invited me to participate in a Continental Challenge. I thought this sounded fascinating in theory, but wasn’t too sure I wanted to participate in it, because I had visions of being forced to read boring classics or lots of romance or something. Neither of which appeal to me.

But, wait!

Why couldn’t I do a horror-specific Continental Challenge? This – THIS – sounds doable to me! If I can’t find horror writers from a country, I’ll settle for a horror book based in that country. Specifically, I’m interested in doing ghost stories from each continent.

So that’s what I shall do.

However…

I need your help!

Could you give me the name of at least two great horror writers from your country? Or ghost story books?

As soon as I get the books chosen, I’ll update this with my choices!

Feel free to join in 🙂

  1. Are you US based or UK? OZ? NZ? Elsewhere?

I immediately thought of Clive Barker as a good choice for a ghost story, but to be honest, I’ve only read one of his books, so I don’t know if he has any stories and novels out there dealing with ghosts.
