Sorry for the delay on getting this posted, folks! I got distracted by it being end of school for the kiddo and then, well, life…
It’s time for our 5th monthly update for the 2017 Horror Reading Challenge currently being hosted by Sci-Fi & Scary.
Feel free to linkup to the page you’re monitoring all your book challenges on (or, alternately, I believe you can leave a link to each individual review once they’ve been posted on your site.) in the comments below. IF the linky tool isn’t working, just enter everything in a comment.
Lilyn read: The Puller, The Isaac Spiders, Alien: Out of the Shadows (audible), The Halloween Children (review), Sorrow’s Turn (review), The Secret to Ventriloquism, Draculas (review) , There is Darkness in Every Room (review), The Nest (review), Wytches (review)
Lilyn’s Favorite was: Draculas. It was goofy, over the top, ridiculous, and just what I needed at that particular time. The Nest was a close runner-up though. Soooo creepy for a kid’s book!!
Gracie read: The Fourth Monkey (review), The Conversationalist (review), Non-Pareil (review), Blood and Needles, Nightmares edited by Ellen Datlow
Gracie’s Favorite was: Nightmares. Read my review to see why!
How was your MAY Horror Madness?
Nervous Neophytes: You signed up to read up to 7 books. How’s it going? Have you read your 3rd or 4th book yet? How’s it going? Are you enjoying reading horror?
Intrepid Initiates: You signed up to read 8-15 books. I hope you’ve read at least 8-10 by now. What’s been the best book you’ve read thus far?
Omniscient Oracles: You’ve signed up to read 16-25 books. You should have read 13-15 by now. Has there been one you HATED yet?
Next month we will do a mid-year catch-up and check in! I can’t wait to see how everyone is doing so far, and what you horror newbies are thinking since you started doing this challenge!
I’m a tad behind but at 11, I still think I’m on track to complete my goal. I just finished Mormama which will go into my June recap but it’s been one of my favorite so far. Oh, and I really loved The Well by Marie Sexton. I devoured it in a day.
I forgot all about this challenge. I did it the last two years but this year, it slipped by me!
