Top Ten Tuesday: Debut Authors & Sophomore Novels I Loved (Nov 3)

As usual, this meme is hosted by Broke and Bookish.

Okay, for this one we’re going to pretend that the second books from these author are not, by and large, sequels to the first book. Because by now we should all know how not fond I am of reading 2nd books in trilogies.

Debut Authors I’m Itching to Read a Sophomore Novel From

1.) Corey J. Popp – His debut novel was Beneath Claire’s House.

2.) T. Eric Bakutis – His debut novel was Glyphbinder.

3.) Will Mabbit – His debut novel was The Unlikely Adventures of Mabel Jones.

4.)  S.M. Freedman – Her debut novel was The Faithful.

5.) Josh Malerman – His debut novel was Bird Box.

Sophomore Novels I Loved (No One-Hit Wonders Heeeeeeere!)

1.) Voyages of the Seven by R. E. Weber. See my review of his first novel: Star Agency, here.

2.) Deadline by Mira Grant. She instantly picked up from her first book, and kept it rolling smoothly.

3.) This Shattered Land by James N. Cooke

4.) Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

5. Betrayed by P.C. Cast

Leave me a link to yours!

  1. I’m like the others and haven’t heard of many of the authors you mention. Just Rowling. I’m gonna click through on some of your links and check them out. I’m always looking for new authors.

  2. I haven’t heard of a lot of these, but I’m glad I seen your post! It’ll be fun looking up these books and finding new things to add to my TBR.
I really enjoyed Chamber of Secrets and I have Bird Box on my TBR.
