Top 5 Wednesday: Books I Will Read Next Year

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by the booktuber, Lainey aka gingereadslainey. You can find the topics and the Goodreads page of the book meme here.

Okay, so technically the topic is “Series I Want to Start Next Year” but… no. I have no series that I want to start. As a rule of thumb, I. don’t. like. series!

The 5 books I WILL read next year. These are books that have been on my TBR for a long, long time, and I’ve determined to actually get to in 2016.

  1. Watership Down by Richard Adams – I grew up in a super small town. Apparently most ‘traditionally read’ books never made it to our teachers attention.
  2. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley- Yep, another classic I’ve never read. I actually have this as an audiobook, I just have to stop putting more interesting sounding books in front of it!
  3. Suffer the Children by John Saul- As a horror fan, this is pretty much one of those “WTF? How have I not?!” books.
  4. Blackout by Tim Curran – Every time I’m looking through my TBR list and I see this book, I’m reminded of how much I want to read it, and how I really need to. I WILL.
  5. The Lathe of Heaven by Ursula K. Le Guin – Again, every time I see it on my list, I think “Oh, yeah! I want to read that!”

On a side note, doing this forced me to sort through my TBR list, and along the way I eliminated lots of books I know I’m never going to actually read. As a result: I’m at 150 books on my TBR list. Which is, considering the amount I read, doable for me!

  1. I know how you feel. I come from a small town as well. What’s the deal with them not wanting us to read awesome books as part of the curriculum? Nonetheless, good choices!
