My Top 5 Audiobooks I’ve Listened to this Year

1.) The Martian by Andy Weir, narrated by R.C. Bray. I have listened to this book a ridiculous amount of times. Bray’s Watney ruined me for the movie, because Matt Damon delivering Watney’s lines just falls ridiculously flat after hearing Bray.

2.) The 5th Wave by Rick Yancy, narrated by Phoebe Strole and Brandon Espinoza. This book actually gave me the first ever dual narration that I actually liked and could listen to.

3.) Infected by Scott Sigler. Better known as: The Book That Creeped Me Out because I kept falling asleep listening to it, and waking up to…stuff I really wasn’t expecting to hear!

4.) Dinosaur Lake by Kathryn Meyer Griffith, narrated Johnnie C. Hayes. This one is a bit odd. Its one of my favorite audio books not because of super-talented narration, but simply because I like the narrator’s “Grandpa”sounding voice so much that I adored listening to this book.

5.) Ex-Heroes by Peter Clines, narrated by Jay Snyder, Khristine Hvam. While not the best narration, it carried the story well and was good enough that I’ve went back and listened to snatches over again.

      1. I have a physical copy too, I might even read along for once and see how that works out since I know some people swear by this method of reading 🙂

        1. It doesn’t work for me, lol. I read too fast, and just can’t consistently slow down my reading speed to match the narration. If I speed the narration up to match my reading speed, it sounds like (on any book) I’m listening to a chipmunk.
