Top 10 Tuesday: 10 Wishes I’d Ask the Book Genie to Grant Me (Oct 20)

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and The Bookish.

10 Wishes I’d Ask the Book Genie to Grant Me

1.) Being able to quit my day job and just review books for a living.

2.) A photographic memory so I could remember every story I ever read, even if I didn’t have the book anymore.

3.)  The ability wipe a crappy sequel from existence.

4.) The ability to stop some books from being made into movies. Sometimes, it just. shouldn’t. happen.

5.)  The ability to bring any particular character into existence just long enough to …er….

6.) The ability to ban horrible writers from ever writing again.

7.) The ability to instantaneously duplicate my favorite books. That way if someone wants to borrow one, I don’t have to loan out *my* book.

8.)  The ability to make paperbacks waterproof so I can just shrug it off if I drop them in the bath instead of freaking out.

9.) Enough money to hire my own personal narrator for any book I love. RC Bray and Ray Porter might never leave my house.

10.) The ability to instantly pick the right book to get every person interested in reading. I really believe people who don’t like to read just haven’t found the right book yet.

Bonus: And while we’re at it, the ability to cure dyslexia, so everyone who wants to read can easily read!

  1. HAHAHAHA nos. 3 & 8.. LOVE IT! when will paperbacks be waterproof? can’t wait…

  2. Zezee says:

Haha! Lmao. I should have included #1 too.
    Smh at #5. Hilarious!

  3. Amy says:

The ability to instantaneously duplicate my favourite books, waterproof books, and the ability to stop some books from being made into movies would be amazing. Especially waterproof books. Someone needs to invent them now 🙂

  4. Mary says:

This is a great list, but I’m all about 1, 2, 4, 6, and 10! Describing a book plot from memory is sometimes the most horrific and embarrassing things–it’s incoherent word vomit that only makes sense to you!

  5. Kar says:

I would be content with #1

  6. Awesome list! I agree on a lot of these, especially #1 and #8! <3

  7. Obikitty says:

#5 OMG! Lol. Though now that you mention it… 😉

    # 1 would be living the dream. Best job ever.

    My TTT

  8. Ayunda says:

Hahaha waterproof paperbacks! And maybe waterproof e-readers as well to read in the bath or while swimming?

  9. Jay Wilson says:

Great list, but I’m definitely loving #10. Then again, even though people just need to find their passion, there’s also this whole ‘instant gratification’ thing going around.

    • Thank you. Agreed. I’m a member of the instant gratification club too, in some ways, so I get it. But…books, man! BOOKS.

      • Jay Wilson says:

I know. Sometimes I wonder how people do without them. I can understand, though. My first book was the Shining back in ’87 when I was 5 and I fell in love with reading. To capture someone as an adult, though, would likely take a miracle. Or a bunch of crummy, racy fan fiction.

        *cough* 50 Shades *cough*

  10. Being able just to read and review all day, would be the dream, really! 🙂 and I agree with you about stopping books from becoming movies. Sometimes, it’s just too much, and…no, leave my books alone, haha! Great list! 🙂

  11. #10 – YESSSS! I wish I could do that too.

  • I love Audible. Tons of books, fantastic narrators, good prices.
