Horror Movie Suggestion:
The Mothman Prophecies (2002) : Whether you believe in The Mothman or not the movie itself is great. Atmospheric, creepy and haunting. The scene near the end is particularly haunting. The fact that it’s based on an actual even makes it that much more tragic. Most movies you watch there’s at least the possibility of a happy ending but knowing how it ends just contributes that much more to the mounting dread of the movie. Based on a book by John Keel.
The Mothman Prophecies Synopsis: A reporter is drawn to a small West Virginia town to investigate a series of strange events, including psychic visions and the appearance of bizarre entities.

I don’t have much hope from Wish Upon. I’ll watch it when it streams but only because we usually end up watching most horror films. I am interested in some of the books you mentioned. I am excited for It (tried to vote but it wouldn’t let me) and am enjoying The Mist. Mr. Mercedes starts in August and I really want to watch that as well.
I actually great up less than an hour away from the home of The Mothman. I remember tales from my Dad and Grandpa about the bridge collapse. It made the movie that much more interesting to me. I’m hoping to manage to make a trip this summer to see the statue they’ve erected. They also have a festival each year.

I watched the first episode of The Mist a few days ago. It seems like it *could* be okay, but I don’t get very interested in the human side of drama crap. I prefer straight up monsters.
