Top Ten Tuesday: 10 finished series I have yet to finish

1. The In Death Series by J.D. Robb (4-5 left, scattered throughout)

There are over 40 books in this series. So..I think I’m pretty good only missing a handful. The first book was released in 1995 and its STILL going. So I know technically its not a *finished* series, but geeeeeeeze. 40 bloody books. I think it counts!
2. The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by J.R. Ward (last few)

These are just excellent books. Twilight isn’t even worthy to shine their covers .
3. The Ringworld Series by Larry Niven (Only read the 1st book)

Ruined me for Discworld, I think…
4. The Space Trilogy by Arthur C. Clarke (last one)

Not holding out hope…2nd wasn’t that great.
5. The Discworld Series by Terry Pratchett (Lets just say…a lot left)

Just one of those series every self-respecting scifi/fantasy lover has to read..right?
6. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy Series by Douglas Adams (Read the first two.)

Who doesn’t love this? I mean, really!
7. The Xanth Series by Piers Anthony (4-5 left, scattered throughout)

I will get this whole collection to share with Miss L when she’s older.
8. The Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton

I’ll be honest, after Obsidian Butterfly it went downhill so quick I probably won’t ever finish the series.
9. The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. “The Gunslinger” introduced me to the second Stephen King book I’ve ever liked, so eventually I think I will finish this series. It just won’t be any time soon.

10. The Perseid Collapse series by Steven Konkoly (1 book left)

This prompt came from Broke and Bookish and I’d like to thank them for giving out some great ideas for so many Tuesdays!

Top 10 Tuesday: 10 Characters I just didn’t click with

This Top 10 Tuesday prompt comes directly from Broke and Bookish.

10 characters I just didn’t click with:

1. Doc Dubois/ Dr. Harris from Seveneves
– Non-charismatic Neil deGrasse Tyson rip-off
2. Bella Swan from Twilight series
– No personality mannequin
3. Anna Christenson from 50 Shades series
– See above.
4. Wade Watts from Ready Player One
– Whiny, dramatic teenage male
5. Mike Erikson from The Fold
– I actually don’t think this is a fault of the character, as much as the REPEATEDLY being told he’s a genius with a photographic memory.
6. Sally Mitchell from Parasite series
– Mary Sue.
7. Thomas Vale from Three A.M.
– Cardboard cutout.
8. Judas Coyne from Heart-Shaped Box
– Some redeeming qualities, but its just hard to care about a retired heavy-metal rockstar.
9. Phury from Black Dagger Brotherhood series
– Too full of the self-pity feels.
10. Shadow from American Gods
– I honestly haven’t figured out why I cannot connect with this character yet.
