A Review of The Alphabet Book by P.S. Winn

What’s it about?

The alphabet.

My Review of The Alphabet Book

This is a very simple alphabet-teaching book for young children. The author wisely kept everything clutter-free, used small words that easily rhymed, and the illustrations were bright and attention-grabbing(and slightly nostalgic-looking for me as they seemed to hearken back to older styles of illustration.)

The only thing that I thought was slightly odd was the choice of illustration for N. The author chose Night for the word, and illustrated it with a picture of a graveyard at night. Its not a scary picture by any means, so its perfectly okay, it was just sort of unexpected to see in a small child’s book.

A cute-looking, simple book perfect for introducing small children to the alphabet.
