What’s it about?
In Kid Sheriff and the Terrible Toads, Drywater Gulch has a toad problem. Not the hop-down-your-britches, croaking-all-night toad kind of problem. The thievin’, hootin’ and hollerin’, steal-your-gold never-say-thank-you outlaw toad kind of problem.
Then hope rides into town. Sheriff Ryan might only be seven years old, and he might not know much about shooting and roping. But he knows a lot about dinosaurs. Yes, dinosaurs. And it turns out that knowing a thing or two about paleontology can come in handy when it comes to hoodwinking and rounding up a few no-good bandits.

Our Review of Kid Sheriff and the Terrible Toads
Miss L says:
It was a REALLY funny. I liked Mommy’s accent. I laughed when Mom said diney-o-sores. I thought the pictures were funny. I would recommend this book to other children. I would rate it 5 stars.
Within seconds of starting this book at the library with Miss L, we were mutually shushing eachother because we were laughing like loons at not only the story, but my rather pathetic attempts to issue forth a proper ‘cowboy’ accent.
Its a cute simple story about a sheriff who uses his wits to apprehend the bad guys, in classic Saturday Morning Cartoon fashion. There’s something a little different about this sheriff though. He rides into, and out of, town verrrrry slowly on his tortoise. Also he’s, you know, seven.
A cute reinforcement of using your wits when the situation seems impossible, I’d definitely recommend parents pick up this book for their little ones.
