  1. So glad you’re doing this. I’m in too. I got to 5 books last year so I’m gonna see if I can get to 7. I forgot to link my reviews last year though. I’m horrible at actively participating in challenges. Will try to remember this year.

  2. I am going for the Initiate Badge. I used to read a lot of horror novels but then I moved into YA, children’s and fiction. I have been meaning to get back into this genre and this challenge might be the motivation I need.

  3. Looking forward to this challenge. I’m planning to go back and read some of the ridiculous 80’s horror that I loved when I was younger. I’m shooting for Oracle of Coolthulhu’s Temple: Read and review 20-25 horror books to receive the Oracle badge! I’ll be tracking books on a special goodreads shelf and on my blog.

  4. I don’t usually participate in challenges but this one was a little hard to resist. I am going to try for the Oracle level. Planning to track on my blog and on GR.

  5. Forgive me because this is my first time entering one of these-where do I go to link up my January reads/reviews? I click on things I think are it, but then I seem to be going in a circle. LOL

  6. I’m so happy that everyone’s so interested in it! As your other horror mod I’m hoping to make it as painless as possible and hopefully everyone meets their goals!

If anyone needs any suggestions just post a query in the Goodeads Horror Challenge board. General and specific questions for recommendations are always welcome!

I’m hoping to reach for the Mystery Badge (I don’t even know what it is yet 😉 because I’m hoping to oomph up my reading this year.

  7. I can’t wait to dig into the huge pile of TDR Horror books that I had sitting on my bookshelves.
I was wondering if anthologies counted. I have this AWESOME collection of horror short stories (999) and I would love to include it in this challenge.

      1. Red Dragon is the Hannibal Lector thing, right? Sometimes thrillers can cross the line into horror, even if its not specifically labeled a horror. Use your judgement. If there are enough horrific elements that you might cross-shelve it on Goodreads under horror, then yes, it counts. If not, it doesn’t. 🙂

  8. And thanks for answering so quickly! I would hate to have to put this amazing series on the back-burner while I did the challenge… btw, I’m shooting for Initiate.
